12pm – 12.30pm – SPARKES AT THE PIANO

Local pianist Steve Sparkes presents his own blend of jazz blues boogie pop featuring special guest Jerry Bart on drums. 

1pm – 1.30pm – Marie Smith

Marie has been playing music since the age of 5. Starting with recorder then learning piano, trumpet, tuba, bass guitar and saxophone. After establishing Music Craft in 2013 as a one to one private tuition business she changed it to a C.I.C (non profit, community interest company) in January 2021 to provide more accessible activities and group sessions. Music Craft C.I.C now have a community music hub in the centre of Newport offering teaching, rehearsal and meeting rooms and an instrument tech specialising in brass and woodwind. There is a Saturday music club at the hub and regular live music events and open mics. When Marie is not looking after the hub, she teaches saxophone and piano from a studio at the Riverside centre.

Bethan John is a singer-songwriter/producer from the Isle of Wight.
The past year she has released multiple singles, a music video, and is working with multiple producers, and performing at various music venues on the Island.
