Event Details

You are warmly invited to a taste of Mindful Self-Compassion. These sessions will include formal and informal meditation practices, such as a self-compassion break, soothing touch, affectionate breathing, soles of the feet, loving kindness for a loved one, walking meditation, compassionate movement; a few poems and a little information about Mindful Self-Compassion.

Anyone may attend with or without mindfulness or meditation experience; these workshops provide a taste of Amanda’s 8 week Mindful Self-Compassion course which is based on the ground breaking research of Kristen Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer. The three components of Mindful Self-Compassion are self-kindness, a sense of common humanity, and balanced, mindful awareness; together they comprise a state of warm-hearted, connected presence.

Please wear comfortable clothes, layers, perhaps bring a blanket or shawl, cushion or yoga mat if you prefer. Amanda is a Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher and currently studying self-compassion in psychotherapy, she is also trained in MBST mindfulness based stress reduction, MBCT Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and a registered counsellor with a small private practice on the Isle of Wight.
