Bibliomancy: The Random Research Game by Fools Harvest

What happens when we research by taking random sentences from books, like divination does from scripture? Do we get Truth? Research skills? Open gates of hell? This research paroldy does these with humour, audience participation and singing from books. Rick Jensen, promoter of New River Studios in London called the show ‘Wonderful’. Get involved in research divination unleashed.

A question is presented, by the audience or performers. The question is written down.

We decide which books to consult: the whole library, top ten or other set, two contrasting titles or a single title.

Audiences have the chance to select a passage:
1. A book is selected.
2. It is balanced on its spine and allowed to fall open (or hands find a random page quickly).
3. The eyes close and a sentence is chosen.
4. The sentence read it loudly.

When someone confirms the random passages answers the question, they raise their hand to vote, and Bob writes down the sentence and source while music is played and the sentence is sung by Jonas.
If someone wants them to read the next sentence, they put up two hands. If someone wants to challenge the findings they are welcome to use random passages to back them up.

After 3 sentences are voted up, our research is concluded with a short musical interlude. We repeat the question and 3 proofs in song to give them Ascension.

Further reading is encouraged.
